The most important thing to know about our membership is that it is FREE! We want it to be easy for you to become a part of the Founders Hall community.
Take a look at our on-line listing or download our current semester program for specific information on our latest offerings. Each semester we introduce a new variety of programs. If you are looking for fitness, art, world religions, music or other forms of self-expression, we have something for you.
Gift certificates can be purchased and used for programs and events. These make great birthday, anniversary and holiday gifts. Contact the front desk at 203-431-7000 for more information.
Among our many services is the production of our monthly newsletter, Founders Forum, which highlights the current month's schedule of course offerings, events and other activities. For more information, download our latest newsletter.
Members must be 60 years of age or over (or married to someone who meets the age requirement) and live within Ridgefield, CT or in a surrounding area town in Connecticut or New York that is without a full-time senior center. The center is a social environment and does not provide nursing or personal care for its members.
Founders Hall boasts 15,000 square feet of comfort and elegance. Although finding a classroom is easy, deciding which class offering to pick is the difficult part. At Founders Hall we have a room for almost everything.

Art Room: A variety of art courses are taught here in this large, bright room with its expansive arched wall of windows looking out into the wooded area beyond. It is a wonderful backdrop for our artistic members.
Card Room: This room is set-up with card tables and comfortable cushioned chairs to accommodate bridge players, scrabble players, mah jongg, or whatever your card or game playing pleasure is. With its glass walls and bright interior, it's easy to spend an afternoon here.
Computer Room: This room has a soft interior, plenty of "people space" and swivel seats to make learning the computer applications comfortable and fun. Some of the classes taught here are Computer Basics, Digital Photography, and genealogy.
Craft Room: The large size of this room allows for multiple projects and storage space is plentiful. The sewing table is just the right height for all sewing projects, such as quilting and smocking. We can design fabric holiday ornaments or decorate holiday wreaths. Our volunteers help make this program a success.
Dining Room: We encourage members to bring their lunch and stay for the day. Six tables are provided in a bright, sunny room where coffee and tea are provided along with occasional sweets. French doors open to the patio where there are tables and chairs for those who like to go outdoors and enjoy the weather... and the scenery. Here, members get together and socialize while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.
Fitness Studio: Enjoy classes in low-impact to high-impact exercise. Look forward to yoga, stretch and flex, and vitality exercise classes. You can even try your skills at line dancing, ballroom dancing, or tap dancing. For your comfort and convenience, men's and women's locker rooms are located across the hallway. Tighten up those muscles, swing those hips and increase your stamina. We've got it all!
Game Room: Enjoy a game of pool, poker or table tennis in this pub-like room. With its soft tones, it is an excellent room for camaraderie.
Lecture Hall: This beautiful, bright space is enjoyed by various clubs and is used for special events such as monthly themed teas and evening wine tastings. It is also a room that allows for an array of presentations at the podium by guest speakers. This room seats approximately 80 people.
Living Room/Library: Plush seating areas are arranged for your reading pleasure. Choose from a selection of newspapers, magazines, fiction, non-fiction, and reference books. Bring a friend and enjoy a game of checkers or chess. Mini concerts, vocal and piano performances are all right here in our living room/library area.
Media Room: In this room, you have the opportunity to sit back and relax in soft, cushioned arm chairs while watching a classic or current film on our large screen. You will also view slide and Power Point presentations covering many topics along with listening to guest speakers.
Grounds: Access to our beautiful grounds is from the parking lot as well as the Dining, Lecture and Media rooms. Members may enjoy sitting at the tables and chairs on the patios while watching others play bocce and shuffle board. A hiking path is also open to the public.
