Summer Semester: Animal/Pet Portraits
Back by popular demand! Better suited for the intermediate or advanced artist, this course will cover the fundamental principles of animal/pet portraiture, from determining proportions and learning basic body shapes (blocking) to the study of various animal eyes, ears, noses and muzzles. In later sessions, we will focus on positioning, settings, and on methods of creating a variety of animal expressions and emotions. Students will be encouraged to produce one finished work of art by the end of the session. (If you have a reference photograph of the animal or pet you would like to draw, please bring it to the first session.)
